Sunfire SubRosa Selected as Product of the Year
World's First Flat Panel Subwoofer is Ideal for Wide Variety of High Performance Applications
Lexington, Ky, - Sunfire, a leading specialist in the design and manufacture of luxury home theater products for the custom installation and specialty retail markets, announced their SubRosa subwoofer was selected by Electronic House magazine as one of their 2008 Products of the Year.
The highly respected industry award was bestowed upon the company's critically-acclaimed SubRosa subwoofer. EH editors cited its ultra-shallow profile, and that it is offered in both in-wall and in-room versions. SubRosa is supplied with a mammoth 2700 watt amplifier (SRA-2700EQ) that features the company's patented Tracking Downconverter technology.
EH Editor Arlen Schweiger described SubRosa as, "sleek as a sports car and its aesthetics complement flat panel displays. In addition, the sub can mount in a wall, on a wall or go behind or under a couch to provide non-visible, low frequency reinforcement to any home theater system."
EH and CEPro Senior Editor Robert Archer exclaimed, "If there were a hall of fame for electronics engineers, Bob Carver would definitely be in it and his innovative SubRosa subwoofer perfectly underscores the point."
The prestigious annual award will be showcased in the September issue of Electronic House magazine, a leading consumer publication for home technology with an enthusiast readership of more than 100,000.
There will also be a Product of the Year awards ceremony at CEDIA Expo in Denver where Sunfire executives will personally receive the award from EH Editor In Chief Cindy Davis.
Sunfire's SubRosa subwoofers, with StillBass™ anti-shake technology exemplify the company's no-compromise design approach – producing prodigious amounts of thunderous bass while virtually eliminating unwanted wall vibrations. SubRosa is available now in choice of in-room or in-wall versions with MSRP of $4000 each and $3500 respectively.
StillBass™ utilizes a patented vibro-tactile I-BEAM™ to reduce unwanted vibrations. Following Newton's 3rd Law of Motion, the I-BEAM creates opposing forces which reduce mechanical vibrations caused by the movement of SubRosa's dual 10" woofers – when the woofers move out, the I-BEAM moves in (and vice versa). Neodymium magnets combined with inverted surrounds allow the subwoofer to be shallow enough for the SRS-210W to fit into a standard 2 X 4 wall cavity. The result is the most powerful in-wall subwoofer available.
Founded by renowned audio innovator Bob Carver, Sunfire designs, develops, manufactures and markets the smallest, most powerful speakers, subwoofers and amplifiers in the world. Sold in over 65 countries, Sunfire combines unconventional thinking with precision engineering to create innovative theater products that deliver exceptional performance – whenever, and wherever, they are heard. Carver's thirty five years of scientific research have resulted in numerous patents including the Tracking Downconverter™ power supply used in the company's receivers and amplifiers; and High Pressure, High Back-emf technology found in the company's speakers.
